Outfit Rentals

Why rent a Highland Dance outfit?
  • Non-competitive dancers may only need an outfit for a short period, such as for a performance, recital and/or exams.
  • Competitive dancers may be in between outfits, they have ordered a new one, want to compete but have outgrown the one they currently own.
  • All rental outfits can be purchased. Renting the outfit may give dancers a chance to try it out and see if they want to own it.
  • Parents of young dancers who are just starting out might want to rent for the first few competitions/performances before committing to purchasing an outfit.

How Does it Work?

If you are interested in any of the available outfits/pieces, you may reserve them up to two weeks prior to the time you need.
Send an email to thehighlandhub@gmail.com stating which outfit/items you wish to rent, when and where you would like it delivered or picked up. We will send you an invoice which can be paid with credit card, PayPal or by sending an e-transfer to the Highland Hub e-mail account. The invoice will include a deposit, any delivery charges and applicable taxes. The deposit will be refunded, less  administration and rental fees, once the items have been returned to the Highland Hub. The deposit is the price of the items wishing to rent, therefore, amounts will be fully paid up if you decide to keep the items.

Additional Information

Grace periods:
Total weeks will always be rounded up to a full week and then the grace periods are deducted. There is always a minimum of a one-week charge.
For outfits that need to be delivered, there is a week grace period at the beginning of the rental period and at the end for there to be no charges during reasonable delivery. The Highland Hub is not responsible for delays in shipping.
If there is a pick up/drop off (no delivery), then there is a one week grace period. Pick ups/drop offs can be arranged in Carleton Place and in Ottawa on certain days of the week.
Reservations:
If an item is not currently available, then it cannot be reserved for a specific date, as we cannot guarantee when it will be returned.
Damaged items:
Should the items be damaged or soiled during the rental, then any cleaning charges will be removed from the deposit as well. Please do not attempt to clean items yourself as the wool and velvet can be damaged with incorrect washing procedures. The Highland Hub will note any pulls and marks before sending you the items. These are used items and will show some regular wear. Amount of the deposit will reflect the condition of the outfits.
Pricing:
Charges – Note all prices are in Canadian dollars and any applicable taxes will need to be added:
