Glenalmond
These ghillies fit similar to the very popular Glenshee. The main difference is that they are open toed (no loop for lace at the front) and have no seam.
We received a new version of the Glenalmond. They are made similar to the original Glenalmond but are no longer made in house and do fit a little differently. The leather is a little thicker (more like Dancewear and Billy Forsyth) so may not stretch as much. The suede sole is a little shorter which allows for a nice rounder heel. They are also sized a little bigger so one would want to go down half or a full size. The sole now lasted and comes up at the arch naturally. The newer version is identified as "new" in sizing.
"The style has 4 fingers whole cut soft black leather upper with contrasting silver eyelets and stitching. There is no front loop or front seam. There are two eyelet at the ankle for better support. The sole unit is soft and flexible chrome suede. The pump is arch lasted to give a superb point" - Thistle Shoes
The following chart provides a good idea for sizing. The final column "Thistle" is the estimated dance shoe size to try. Note that these ghillies will stretch at least half a size with wear. If you are a dancing in competitions, it is recommended to go down at half to one full size and stretch the leather out for the best fit.
